The Bauhaus Museum Dessau was opened on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus on September 8, 2019. So far, the presentation of the valuable collection of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in the Bauhaus building has only been possible to a limited extent. For the first time, the new museum has suitable rooms for a comprehensive public presentation. The collection of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation comprises around 49,000 cataloged exhibits and is the second largest collection on the Bauhaus theme worldwide. The new museum with an exhibition area of 2,100 square meters has a total usable area of 3,500 square meters.
